Neil Nitin Mukesh

Born: 15 January, 1982 in Mumbai, India

Biography: Also known as Neil Mathur, he is the son of singer Nitin Mukesh and grandson of legendary Mukesh Chand Mathur. Known for his suave appearance and sharp features, he is often compared to Hrithik Roshan.
He graduated from HR College with a B.Com degree. As a child it was his dream to become an actor. He completed a course in acting at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Institute and also at Anupam Kher’s Institute during his college vacations. He also assisted Aditya Chopra for the film Mujhse Dosti Karoge.
Neil started acting as a child. He appeared in Yash Raj’s Vijay and Vimal Kumar’s Jaise Karni Wiasi Bharni. In the latter, where he played Govinda as a child, his acting was appreciated a lot and this left a lasting impression on his mind.
As an adult, he got many offers for a lead role, but he did not feel it befitting to start his career with a typical love-story. When he was offered to play a negative role in Sriram Raghavan’s Johnny Gaddaar (2007), he instantly accepted it. He was impressed by the script which would portray an ensemble cast. Although the film did not do well commercially, it earned him some rave reviews for his performance. Neil was nominated for the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for Johnny Gaddar. He also won the IIFA Fresh Face of the Year Award for this film. He next starred in Sudhir Mishra’s Tera Kya Hoga Johnny in 2008. This film was previewed in the Dubai International Film Festival.
He also walked the ramp at the 2007 Lakme India Fashion Week. Music being in his genes, he is also a trained singer. His nick name is Blue and playing the piano is his hobby. Neil is a fearless actor; he is a very promising artist with all the elements to make it big in Bollywood.
