Neetu Chandra

Biography: Born in Patna to a businessman, Neetu Chandra is an upcoming film actress and a fashion model. She finished her schooling from Notre Dame Academy, Patna and attended Delhi’s IP College. Neetu has worked in several ad campaigns and videos. Apart from acting and modeling, she is also an avid sportsperson. She is a Taekwondo expert and the winner of the silver medal at the National Games. She has also represented India in the World Korfball Championship in 1995.

At first when Neetu wanted to take up her dream career, i.e. modeling and acting, she faced some reluctance from her father. But with her mother’s support she went ahead to fulfill her many dreams. Today, thanks to her mother, to whom she attributes her success and her perseverance, she has come along very far. She got her first break into films with the movie Garam Masala, where she played the role of an air hostess ‘Sweety.’ After that, she was also seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Summer 2007 and One Two Three. Her recent Tamil film Yavarum Nalam, where she was cast opposite Madhavan, was a great hit. Her upcoming films include Ram Gopal Verma’s Rann and Jag Mundhra’s Apartment.

Besides this, Neetu was also on the magazine cover of Maxim India for their January 2009 issue. She is also credited to be the central character in a 3D mobile game, ‘The Alien Killer’ in which she plays Neetu - an intelligent and courageous woman who is responsible for redeeming the Earth from alien rule. Along with her success came controversy: she faced a lot of protests and objections during a girl-on-girl photo shoot for a magazine, ‘The Man’. But despite all this, Neetu seems to be going full on the path of stardom and success.
