Kay Kay Menon

Biography: Kay Kay Menon grew up primarily in Ambarnath and later in Pune before his family shifted to Mumbai. He completed his schooling from St. Joseph’s School, Pune and did his graduation in Physics from Mumbai University. He moved on to complete his MBA in Marketing under Pune University. Initially he wanted to make a career in advertising and was also involved in the Kinetic Honda and Marlboro cigarette ads in India.

Menon entered the film industry with theatre productions and gradually started acting in TV serials like Pradhan Mantri and in telefilms like Zebra 2 and Last Train to Mahakali, before he finally turned to film acting. He made his film debut with the film Naseem based on the Babri Masjid demolition, and then went on to do a film called Bhopal Express, based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. He then appeared in the film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, and his performance in this film earned him wide appreciation.

Menon is best known for critically acclaimed roles. His performance in Black Friday based on the 1993 bomb blasts which was featured in the Locarno International Film Festival earned him great reviews. Menon has done several films with varied roles. He has the knack of getting under the skin of the character and giving outstanding performances. The intensity of his performances is hard to miss.

Menon has also appeared in films like Sarkar, Corporate, Life in a Metro, and Shaurya, all of which have been successful. His other films include Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., The Stoneman Murders, Gulaal and several others, and his upcoming films for 2009 include Aage Se Right, Hook Ya Crook and Sankat City.

Kay Kay Menon is an immensely talented actor with exceptional acting skills. He is a rising star of Bollywood who has yet to shine fully in many more films to come.
