Hrithik Roshan

Born: 10, January, 1974 in Mumbai, India

Biography: His name spells hysteria among fans, also known as ‘hrithikmania.’ He is known to possess a wonderful physique, superior acting skills, excellent style of dancing, and a penchant for perfection.

Born in a family closely associated with Bollywood, Hrithik fondly known as Duggu rose to stardom almost overnight with his breathtaking performance in debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000). This film won numerous awards including the Filmfare Best Actor Award and Best Male Debut Award. He also worked in films like Fiza and Mission Kashmir based on terrorism. This was followed by Subhash Ghai’s Yaadein in 2001; but these films did not do as well commercially. Then, Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, worked magic.

This green eyed actor faced a series of flops such as Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage and Mujhse Dosti Karoge and seemed to be slipping the coveted heights which he had once reached. But Koi Mil Gaya: a fiction film where Hrithik plays a mentally unsound boy became a smashing success and proved all skeptics wrong. It won him the Filmfare award for Best Actor as well as the Critic’s award. This was followed by a dazzling performance in the sequel Krrish which turned out to be a super hit.

In Dhoom 2, Hrithik for the first time played the role of a villain and it brought overwhelming success. In 2008, he starred in the historical film Jodha Akbar which also won him the best actor award. His next upcoming film is Kites and he has also signed a film with Bhansali.

Hrithik is also known for his many charitable works. Besides this, he was once involved in a controversy. He was quoted to have made anti Nepal remarks but it later proved to be untrue.

To sum up, modest and meticulous: Hrithik is known to sparkle and dazzle audience through his heart warming performances.
