Farhan Akhtar

Biography: Farhan Akhtar is one of the most celebrated director of the recent times who made it big with his first film itself Dil Chahta Hai. He is the son of well-known scriptwriter, poet, and lyricist Javed Akhtar and renowned screenplay writer Honey Irani. Just like his parents, Farhan too had an inclination towards movies and writing. Earlier on, he took many different projects and assignments to understand the knitty-gritty of script writing and directing. He worked with Pankaj Parshar, assisting him on Himalyaputra, which was Akshaye Khanna's debut movie. Farhan also worked for Script Shop a television software production house for three years. He also co-directed Shankar Mahadevan music video Breathless with sister Zoya Akhtar. His directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai was a huge success in metros and became a cult movie of the young people. He followed with movies - Lakshya and Don, both with an elan and style of their own. Versatile as he is, now trying his hands at acting and singing in the movie 'Rock On', which he is producing as well.
