Ayesha Takia

Born: 10 April, 1986 in Mumbai, India

Biography: She is a bollywood actress from Mumbai who started her career at an early age of fifteen through music videos and the popular Complan ad. She appeared in Falguni Pathak’s “Meri Chunar Ud Ud Jaye” and DJ Aqeel’s “Shake It Daddy.” She is born to a Gujrati father and an Anglo Indian mother and has a younger sister called Natasha. She has always admired actors such as Big B-Mr. Bacchan, SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), Rani.

She made her first film debut in Tarzan - The Wonder Car. She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for this film. Post DJ Aqeel’s music video Ayesha signed a contract for the film Socha Na Tha, but due to certain delays Tarzan went on to be her first featured film. Since then, Ayesha has done many films, but she received recognition for her role in the film Dor. She won more than a few awards including the Zee Cine Critics Award for her performance in Dor where she plays a widowed Rajasthani woman in a traditional household.

Ayesha has starred in many films such as Salaam-e-Ishq- A Tribute to Love, Fool and Final, Cash, No Smoking, Sunday and others. But these have not been able to create a lasting impression in the bollywood arena. Her forthcoming movies are Paathshaala, Naughty at Forty, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai and Eighty by Ten to name a few. Also, she has lent her voice (to a leopard cub) for an animated film.

Given the current scenario, Ayesha seems to be busy steering her ship in the torrential waters of Bollywood.
