Arshad Warsi

Biography: Arshad Warsi is an actor, dancer, a playback singer and a comedian - all rolled into one. In his youth, he was very fond of dancing. At the age of 21, he won the fourth prize at the English Jazz Dancing Competition. He used the prize money to set up his own dance school. Besides this, he was also a part of the English Theatre Group.

Arshad got his first break into films with the film Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. This was followed by a number of performances in films like Betaabi, Ghaat, Trishakti, Jaani Dushman, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai - Part II and so on. Although these films did not fare well at the box office, it didn’t daunt Arshad. Shortly after came his runaway success in the form of the milestone film, Munnabhai M.B.B.S. This film catapulted him to fame.

This film was followed by a number of commercially successful films such as Hulchul, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Salaam Namaste, Golmaal, Lage Raho Munnabhai (the sequel to Munnabhai M.B.B.S), Kabul Express, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Dhamaal and Golmaal Returns. He won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for the role of Circuit in the film Lage Raho Munnabhai. His forthcoming films include Zamaanat, and another sequel to Munnabhai M.B.B.S which is named as Munnabhai Chale Amerika.

Apart from films, Arshad has also appeared on the silver screen as the host of Big Boss, which is the Indian version of Big Brother. He has also hosted shows such as Sabse Favourite Kaun on Star Gold and a dance show named Razzmatazz on Zee TV. Arshad Warsi - a name synonymous with Circuit from Munnabhai films - has come a long way from his humble roots and is here to stay.
