Fatwa Issued Against King Khan

Shah Rukh Khan seems to be in choppy waters again, this time for his alleged remarks on Prophet Mohammed. The fatwa in question has been issued by an Islamic sect called Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e- Islam. However, the star got some immediate support from other religious leaders who have distanced themselves from this fatwa.

Bareilly-based Markazi Darul Ifta, responsible for issuing fatwa for the Barelvi sect, has refused to be drawn in the controversy and termed the fatwa issued by the other sect as unnecessary.

Incidentally, a criminal case was also lodged against Shah Rukh Khan and the publisher of the magazine recently under section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious sentiments) and section 34 (acts done by several persons with common interest) of the Indian Penal Code.

Speaking on the controversy, Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind spokesman Maulana Abdul Hamid Noamani said that issuing fatwas based merely on media reports are not justified and hence pointless.

The King Khan might have got away with it but it has scared one of his best friends Karan Johar. He has intensified his research for his film ‘My name is Khan’ which is under production as of now.
Karan Johar knows that controversies like these can take heavy toll on famous people and is making sure he steers clear of them.
