‘Rock on’ Rocks at Filmfare

‘Rock on’ the movie that rocked the nation last year recaptured glory at the Idea Filmfare awards, bagging six awards. Director Abhishek Kapoor was Jubilant as he expressed his awe as Rock On swept away a bagful of awards for various categories. As Ecstatic as he was, he recalled how there was scope for mishaps in every step of making the movie. Yet the movie raced past hurdles, and emerged with a flourish. It went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits.

While Jodha Akbar won five awards, the awards for the Best Story, Best Supporting Actor and Best Debutant all went to Rock On- Abhishek Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Faran Akhtar respectively. It also bagged the honors in the categories of Best Sound Design and for cinematography, and Purab Kohli picked up an award for Outstanding Performance.

Priyanka Chopra won the Best Actress category while Hrithik Roshan was chosen Best Actor. Asin walked away with her first award in Bollywood as Best Debutante.
