Synopsis:
Tale of Guru, a small time car thief, and his partner in crime, Ganpat, who owns a small garage. Trouble begins when guru jacks off a merc which belongs to the don. To complicate matters they also find rs 1 crore stashed in the vehicle. The don gets the whiff about Guru and wants to bump him off. But he wants his money first which cant be located as Ganpat who hid it becomes amnesic owing to a recent accident. Amid all the confusion, Guru finds a way to that might give him a chance to save his life.

Sankat City is great fun, to put it simply. But it is intelligent fun, the kind that speaks much without actually getting loud. After a looong time, one finally sees a Hindi film with a screenplay that has been constructed with much care and thought. For all the mayhem in a city gone mad, Sankat City is extremely well-plotted and the inter-linking of various characters trying to outcon the other and the situations they find themselves in is done most cleverly. What's more most of the gags hit home, thereby giving the film a high likeability factor. Go watch it people and give intelligent cinema a boost!
